Some CYA going on………..
If as most of us know, the GOVERNMENT of Iran has been inciting mayhem in Iraq, and our leaders have refused to notice and take effective action against that incitement, then men like Pace are going to have some hard, brutal questions asked of them by history.
And what’s going to be there answer?
They’ve bet the farm on the demonstrably false notion that Shiites can’t help sunni terrorists. And now, with only two years left in this Presidency, they don’t have the time to undo all the damage they’ve wrought through a DELIBERATE misconstruing of the facts, of the lay of the land and of the contours of the strategic landscape.
Professor Ledeen, history will vindicate you.
And it looks like history will damn this administration.

Don’t be so certain, life is not so simple. I”ve made plenty of mistakes, and hope to make many more. This administration has done several good things, and if it had had a loyal opposition or an honorable press, it most likely would have done many other good, maybe even great, things.
Human history is, above all, the story of human error and accident. Great men, great acts, people who get things right, those are very rare. Don’t forget that.
We’re going to win this thing in the end.
