Assuming that the cause of death for many people had been “liver failure due to ice or egg ingestion,” if indeed a decrease in such fatalities has occured, it is undoubtedly related to a) the Italians learning how to properly diagnose causes of death, b)the Italians having better sanitation methods, or c) the Italians embracing more western habits rather than their old-world traditions. Either way I relate it to Berlusconi’s capitalist policies that Italy is far more successful now.
