Mr Ledeen, I understand your argument but I believe you are a little bit misled by comparing Mr khamenei to third world dictators, Mr khamenei is not a media shy celebrity, but he doesn’t seek media attention either, your argument is based on him not appearing on televised speeches is understandable if you are talking about someone like Castro, Ayatollah Khamenei doesn’t appear on daily televised speeches everyday. Also There’s no proof that those photos are archive photos.

These pictures are from the archives, they are about a year old. Pathetic.

If he were healthy, he’d have been on television talking to the people or to the RG about the catastrophe in Balouchistan, not talking to a group of women about the importance of studying Koran day and night. But all we have are old photos and videos, and “statements” issued by his staff.

I believe he is still in very bad shape, and that the elite of the regime believes the same thing. Ahmadinejad cancelled a long scheduled trip to Isfahan yesterday, most likely because he doesn’t want to leave Tehran with the Supreme Leader in crisis. Anyway, we’ll know after a bit.
