” … many Iranians are now openly calling Obama ‘Chamberlain.’”

" Khamenie ....[wants] nuclear weapons for his birthday.."

Mr. Ledeen, where is the world are you coming up with these fabrications?

Oh yes, I guess Iranians favored Churchill over Chamberlain because Churchill was directly responsible for overthrowing Mossadeq's government.

Khamenie's birthday?? Would you be kind enough to tell us the exact date of birth.

Such non-sense, taking Khamenie to be like Saddam Hussein with his birthday celebrations.

Are these the type of "facts" you have published in your books? I guess that is why they made it to New York's Best Seller List- one after another --hmm

People like Micheal Ledeen and unethical pseudo-journalists like Judith Miller have shown their true colors- Fabricate, and propagate as long as it is good for Israel.

They go about their lives thinking they can fool people- and the best part is that the ISraeli policy makers won't invite them for a local celebration.

Oh, God, how good I feel to know that I saw the day when that trash-journalists like aka Judith Miller & AM Rosenthal fell from grace. From NYTimes to NY WHAT???

Mr. Ledeen, never was high profile like Judith but his book sales speak volumes. After all, how can someone with prior experience only in Italy come and pontificate about MIddle East when he never studied it.

Mr Ledeen, thinks that by talking human rights he can pull one over us. That's like Micheal Savage's (Even though fervent Zionist, atleast his little stories and delivery makes one like him) attempt to conceal his Jewish identity (MIcheal Weiner) to come across as the mouthpiece of blue collar American CHRISTIANS. Yes, many Mr. High School Football player now security guard might buy that, but anyone with some culture and interaction has long ago found out about Mr Savage.

Anyway, people like Mr Ledeen, Joseph Farah, World Net Daily and clique have all shown their true intentions- -

Thanks God, Iran is at a point where no amount of pressure can make it bend. All the Sarkozys, Ledeens, Coulters, Hannitys can burn their hearts out and seethe in anger, but not a hair follicle would move in Iran.

PS. Mr. Ledeen, maybe if you would have written a Italian cook book things would have gone much better.

No doubt there is deep concern among the Iranian reformist activists, where the Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned that "they will suppress strictly any protests or demonstrations by opponents of Ahmadinejad on Jerusalem Day." Most probably, Khamenei and his thugs won’t hesitate tomorrow to beat and kill thousands of Iranians God forbid! The west MUST MOVE to help Iranians and by all means.
MAY GOD BLESS IRANIANS

Thanks so much for the article. Especially the quotes.

I wonder if the Iranian people can do what it will take? Either way is a tragedy, but if they can rid themselves of this government, at least the tragedy has purpose and value.

Sometimes we tend to assume Islam is one thing, or another thing, forgetting that it is a great world religion. The fact that Islam has been abused and horribly misrepresented doesn't mean we are justified in making assumptions about any Muslim. Yes, I have read the Quran, but there is much more to Islam than that. The Iranians want and deserve freedom as much as anybody.

It is a fickle fate that gives us a president incompetent to deal with this. So many Americans would help the Iranians, if we knew how, and Obama is not just voting "present", his acts support the regime in power. But then, I wonder if the realization that they are alone brings home to the Iranians that they and nobody else will have to deal with their government.

There are messages here for us in the US, regarding our own situation. The most obvious one is 'don't let anybody mess with our right to bear arms'.

To Poor Citizen:
Please do not despair! Iran during the reign of the Shah and his courageous father (50+ years) was the island of stability in the region. The region had enjoyed decades of peace and stability except few short periods of war but never anything like what we are experiencing with the Islamo-fascists ruling and threatening the region and beyond.
It was due to the wrong and imperial policies of Russia and Britain and the incompetence and wrong policies of Carter that all has changed. Carter supported and materialized the ousted of the Shah and establishment of the Khomeinist regime in Iran, then Russia happy to see Shah gone, went to grab Afghanistan, then American congressman Wilson support and funding of the rebellions in Afghanistan to oust the Russians all again materialized the strength and power of the Islamic jihadists in the region. After all the rebellion in Afghanistan who were fighting the forces of Russian invaders were for the most part getting indoctrinated by Al Queda and our American naive congressman Wilson without knowing was supporting the Al Queda to the tune of trillions of dollars thinking it will be instrumental to fight off the Russians which happened to be true. Now with Russian defeated in Afghanistan and gone back and Shah of Iran ousted as well, the forces of Al Queda are free and loaded with $$$$$$ cash to spread their venom around and the rest is what we see now. Basically if we want to see peace and succeed in fighting the forces of Islamic darkness we should cut off the sources of $$$$$ which rests in the vaults of the "World Bank" and their so called "Aide" to the poor nations (meaning rich thugs in powers of those nations!!!) and the UN and its corrupt bodies of power pouring millions of dollars into the pockets of those fascist regimes. So basically it is not the as simple as black and white but it is a complex scenario where it had all started with bad policies of the West in the 70's perpetrated by the imperial ambitions of the the Soviets of that era.
History of the 70's gives us all the lessons we need to understand today's menace we are facing. In the meantime the people of mid east has been taken all hostages!
What craziness?!!

I just dont see much change in Iran, or the mideast in general, for many years to come. The cultural infrastructure of the entire mid east/souwest asian areas do not lend themselves for change any time soon. Its a mess.

This period is a phony period, just like 38-39 The forces are circling, gathering, marking, positioning. More warfare is on the horizon, whether it starts here or there makes little difference for there will be more war. A question is when war comes as it surly will. What will the disciple of Alinski, the protege of Ayers, follower of Chomsky do? Fiddle like Nero will he founder like Carter, produce fly paper Ala Chamberlin.
What will be left of his power, if anything?
None of the parties in play have infinite patience. Who will be first not to check 6? I think I know the answer and its unpleasant at best.
