Dear Harry,
I agree with you that Pakistan will be the next country to use a nuke. But, if the West will allow Iran to possess dirty bomb, there some evil countries in the Middle East are ruled by Moslem fanatics and evil parties as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Syria. Certainly, they will pursue the same current.

I’d rather be wrong versus Mr. Ledeen. But it looks like Iran will have a nuclear bomb very soon and we didn’t do anything to stop it. Let me add that the window to wage war is rapidly closing because of the nuke factor. Fiscally and politically it is impossible at the moment. There’s no money for it nor troops and the democrats are vehemently against it. Let’s set the clock to 5 minutes to midnight. Is Vegas taking bets? I’ll wager Pakistan will be the next country to use a nuke. Now that’s a scary scenario most of us don’t even consider. Pakistan vs. India most likely event.

Carter made sure something like Iraq case doesn’t happen. He did what he could under the circumstances, without feeling like a cowboy by flying U.S. fighters in broad daylight. He did not end up killing thousands and thousands of people, like what has happened in Iraq, along with TRILLIONS of U.S. tax payers in Iraq.

Now do you want to look at the REAL pictures of two potential people that soon will be beheaded in Iraq? Do you want to see the pictures BEFORE the beheading? Thus far there are no pictures of the AFTER beheading, but looking at these two ladies in the following links to Washington Post, you will be proud to know that the very W. Yes I did think we were excessively ‘military’ and insufficiently ‘political’ in Iraq. I proposed declaring the ‘no-fly zones’ no-Saddam zones, and telling Saddam we would bomb any military forces that entered them. Then empowering local governments, Kurds in the north, Shi’a in the south. Then dropping leaflets on the center, saying ‘you don’t have to die for this bastard,’ and encouraging them to go north or south, and to govern themseles.

nobody knows what effect it would have had, but we were entitled to do it under the terms of the cease-fire then in effect, and which Saddam had repeatedly violated, as per the UN.

you ask when i’m going to support a military campaign against the mullahs. clearly nobody is going to attempt ‘my’ solution, support for democratic revolution. some day, the mullahs will announce and perhaps demonstrate that they have ‘gone nuclear.’ at that point, the West will decide between appeasement and war, and i will mourn thirty years of failure by the West.

i hope at least some thought will be given to support for iranian dissidents in the mean time. nobody knows how long it would take for the tens of millions of dissident iranians to bring down this horrid, evil regime, but note that nobody has ever been much good at predicting the timing of revolution. we do know that iran is a revolutionary society (three revolutions last century, a record), so we have every reason to think it would be successful again this time.

why do i have to embrace a terrible alternative now? why should I stop calling for a better solution?
