Does Khamenei Know There’s a Jewish Sea Captain Heading His Way?
November 7th, 2007 - 9:00 pm
I think it’s God’s riotous sense of humor, to put a Jew in command of the USS Truman, now headed to the Gulf. He sounds just fine: calm, smart, informed, and quite ready to do his job. But don’t you just love the fact that the “Truman”–named after the president who recognized the state of Israel–is commanded by a serious Jewish captain?

Ha ha, that’s awesome.
Dr.Ledeen
Is USS Truman headed for the Mexican gulf???
Great Michael.
Please follow the Interpol red notice against former high iranians officers under suspicious for the 1994 attack here in Argentina.
As the World Turns, so are the centrifuges. All 3000 of them.

well, that is what ahmadi nezhad says. but he says all kind of things…
This is very ironic, indeed. And Tehran deserves to be rattled by this, and more. But are they?
The issue is with all the USS’s coming to and fro the Persian Gulf n the past year or so, do they actually plan to do anything other than park their ships in there and enjoy the sunny gulf afternoons on the deck? http://mor2com.blogspot.com/
Unfortunately, by now, everyone and especially Tehran is well aware that this, too, is yet another futile exercise in a series of scare tactics to intimidate the Iranian regime to succumb to stopping enrichment before the Nov. 22 UNSC sanctions deadline. It happened every time when we are approaching similar crucial UNSC sanctions deadlines in the past.
The President of the United States has been derailed on Iran by Condi Rice’s state department. The President has yet to return to his declared policy of “Axis of Evil” and do the right thing vis a vis Iran; some optimist observers are still hopeful that he may do so later, but time is slipping away, and is definitely not on our side.
He is quite the man! He has a Master’s degree in electrical engineering, and has been through the Navy nuclear school – no small feat. Combine this with leadership qualities, and you have a great sea captain. I wish them well, and hope they are able to intimidate the evil Mullahs, or even take out some EFP factories.
ML:
Yes, he is quite amazing. That bit about Navy nuclear school reminds me of our youngest child, Daniel, who spent his summer vacation a while back playing midshipman (he will of course be a Marine officer, like his older brother) and ended up on a nuclear sub for a week. He loved it, and reported that even the enlisted men had advanced degrees (!).

If only our Iran policy was as brilliant as our sea men are, we would be having a secular democracy in Iran right now as a strong ally in the region.
I have to admit, God has a sense of humour. Haman’s gallows meant for Mordechai being used upon Haman is the first example.
I guess we are fighting for the right side because we have more success to point to when it comes to learning from the past.
It doesn’t seem that long ago similar reports were made before the first and second Gulf Wars, hoping that Saddam would yield.
The terrormasters refuse to learn that lesson – so I guess that is an important difference between us and them.
As long as our Secretary of State makes commenst like below, Khamenei and the whole lot of mullahs will be laughing all the way to their nuclear bomb. We are losing a bigger war with Iran, before we even start it.
Rice: “If the Iranians suspend their enrichment and reprocessing, I’m prepared to meet my counterpart anyplace, anytime, anywhere,” she added. “So the question isn’t why will we not talk to Tehran. The question is, why will Tehran not talk to us?” http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071111/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_iran
What a pitifully weak and timid mess our Iran policy has become in the hands of the likes of Condi Rice and Robert Gates, etc.
God only help us.
ML:
Yes, it’s discouraging, but it isn’t new. If you will just memorize your copy of “The Iranian Time Bomb,” you will see that this has been going on for thirty years.
