Chicago Tribune: ‘Soul Train’ Creator Don Cornelius Found Dead at 75; Apparent Suicide

“Soul Train” creator Don Cornelius was found dead at his Sherman Oaks home early this morning, according to the L.A. Times.

Cornelius was 75.

Law enforcement sources said police arrived at Cornelius’ home at about 4 a.m. He apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the case was ongoing.

The sources said there was no sign of foul play but that the Los Angeles Police Department is still investigating the case.

    Please figure out we really didn’t look like that, dress that way, and dance that way? I swear I saw a male who could pass for the sista, another Michael Jackson “don’t stop til you get enough” video clone, and Rhianna’s mother (the chick with your ex hair down to her ass dancing in certain sort of baby doll lingerie outfit). Oh and I’m sure I saw a Rick James wannabe in that room too. All this before 10 each day!

    WOW….Not just one comment on how he was convicted on spousal abuse… so i want to be the first to say, “F you and the instruct you rode in on.”if i followed the criminal records of every single person i watched on the tv, paid attention to on the radio or what have you, every single person i see in movies, i’d personally have no time to enjoy myself because i’d find criminal records all damn night and day. i dont defend every fucking thing anyone does with no i dont think spousal abuse is cool. but give me a break.I can’t give you a break, but Don will…a bone or two…there’s no pity whatsoever males who hits over a woman

    that just sucks. I thought the Soul Train LIne was the do-not-ever-miss the main show ‘cos the chicks were sexy with giving the impression of the hootchies today as well as the guys were always stylin’.
