Got leftover greens? This is good.

This time I had some leftover greens. Burgers into the George Foreman with about a tablespoon of chopped onions between them. Cook thoroughly.

Look, I like my meat crunchy. Deal with it.

Rewarmed the greens, burgers on top of the greens, grated quesadilla cheese on top.

I’m beginning to like this veggies thing.

Charlie,
Pt T H has dropped 9 #.I checked his initial weight and it was 284-so this is in about 3 weeks It would be better, except he was low on the cinnamon the first week.(The bottle says 1000 mg and then (per. serving size) in a little smudge,so he was taking half the rec'd dosage. He's not interested in even doing finger sticks,so I will follow his bs via A1C.
To be honest, I don't know if increasing the cinnamon would be even more effective, but "the enemy of good' etc

Charlie, Good news. The patient I started on the VZ/BYS/Cinnamon has a high A1C. He's diabetic!(Well, maybe not so good for him.)Anyway, have just started him on metformin(500/once daily) His Fasting was 152,A1C was 8.Weight 282.Charlie,We need to do a blog. I'm projecting Hetz will lose 60# by thanksgiving.Probably be aa little more ,though.Still haven.t signed for the clinical trial,so I can have no complaints of bias.)

Right now I'm actually up a few pounds -- I was having fruit cravings like mad, so I've been higher on the carbs recently. These cooking experiments are part of me getting back on the wagon.

Looks good!

But what kind of greens? Have you discovered kale, yet?

This was a mix of baby kale and spinach.

Have you ever wilted greens (I prefer spinach) in bacon grease and then mixed them with a vinaigrette of red wine vinegar, olive oil and a dash of mustard? Top with slices of hard-boiled eggs and half of a small, red onion.

I have, but I like Greek style better -- lots of garlic, good olive oil, wilt/sauté and then toss with a little red wine vinegar.

Your recipe sounds more *sinff* Continental with all that garlic and EVOO than mine.

(Sorry. I had some Rachel-Ray antipathy to discharge.)

Nothing but the greens? No eggs? No onion? Just greens?

I put in enough garlic that it probably counts as a side dish in itself.

This is really up-in-the-mountains-with-the-sheep Greek -- they would do it with any random greens, preferably bitter ones, they could gather. Kind of wilted poke salad.

Mmmmmmm, BACON! :D

I learned to make that in a cooking class as a young bachelor.

Good!

Oh, bloody hell.

I had to take Home-Ec in high school. No boys were allowed to take it. They had to take shop or auto-body.

I resented the snot out of it. I wanted to learn how to carve wood.

I earned a D. And, to this day, I'm proud of that grade.

I had the parallel experience. I love to cook, and all the girls were in Home Ec. Sounded perfect. But nooooo...

You might have enjoyed the class I took. "Cooking for You or Two". I went with a couple of bachelor friends. Great fun, and very helpful.

So, have you learned how to carve wood yet?

That reminds me, sometimes when I'm trying to have a low-carb day, I serve my protein (a chicken breast or a piece of fish) over some fresh home-made guacamole. Or, once I shredded up some chicken and BBQ sauce and served it inside a halved avocado. It's easy, healthy, and delicious!
