Here’s the last of our fan requests for Beatles cover tunes. Timothy Furnish, a fellow Georgian, reminded me of Elton John’s cover of “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.” A bit of trivia: this is the only cover of a Beatles song that reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

And in the studio version, "Dr. Winston O'Boogie" who played guitar and sang backing vocals was John Lennon! (So as I remarked in my email to Mr. Lifestyle, this is only a quasi-cover of a Beatles song.)
