Sir Thomas More on the Trial of George Zimmerman

"What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?"

That’s not stopping the race mongers, of course. For them, the death of Trayvon Martin is an allegory of how America is a racist society. If only they could take a break from their race baiting histrionics to watch an improving film, The Man for All Seasons (1966), for example.  A friend, pondering the spectacle of race hatred on view in the aftermath of the Zimmerman trial, sent me these exchanges from the movie:

William Roper: So, now you give the Devil the benefit of law!

Sir Thomas More: Yes! What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?

William Roper: Yes, I’d cut down every law in England to do that!

Sir Thomas More: Oh? And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned ’round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country is planted thick with laws, from coast to coast, Man’s laws, not God’s! And if you cut them down, and you’re just the man to do it, do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I’d give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety’s sake!

And this:

Margaret More: Father, that man’s bad.

Sir Thomas More: There’s no law against that.

William Roper: There is: God’s law.

Sir Thomas More: Then God can arrest him.

About 15-18 years ago R. Jesse Jackson got wind of a lawsuit brought against The Boeing Co alleging racism in promotions handling there by about 12,000 or so past and present minority workers. I worked there at the time and knew a few of the participants involved in the lawsuit. Parties to that lawsuit got to high-fiving each other when they heard the word that J. Jackson hisself was coming to save the day. Jackson showed up - huddled up with Boeing execs for a few hours over a few days - and came out to announce that the execs had agreed to 'look into the allegations'. Jackson left town - with (IIFC) $250,000 for his rainbow coalition - and probably something 'extra' for Jackson hisself. Seems that shortly after that Boeing awarded 4 contracts to minority owned companies - which rumors say were connected to Jackson's rainbow coalition. Surprise surprise! The end result to 'looking into' the problem resulted in a few blacks getting promotions they may not otherwise have deserved - and things went back to normal. Jackson was the only real winner in the whole shebang. There was also $15M awarded as settlement. The lawyers got the bulk of that - the rest was distributed to the 12,000 named in the lawsuit.

One gal I worked with (she and I were the same pay grade) was party to the lawsuit - she kept saying she was finally gonna get 'my 40 acres and a mule'. After Jackson left town a quarter million heavier and the lawsuit fell apart I asked her how the mule was doing. All she could do was cuss out that "G-D'ed Jackson" She knew who had won. She could not verbalize it but it was the race baiters - they always win. I never could figure why the rest of the black community didn't 'get it' like she did. And still don't.

Anyone who at all admires Al Sharpton is bereft of humanity.

Al Sharpton, who is responsible for the deaths of:

Yankel Rosenbaum

Angelina Marrero

Cynthia Martinez

Luz Ramos

Mayra Rentas

Olga Garcia

Garnette Ramautar

Kareem Brunner

Al Sharpton: A man, who defamed innocent policemen and prosecutors while holding up Tawana Brawley as a victim of the ‘white man.’

Al Sharpton: A man, who slandered and libeled the Duke Lacrosse Team and beatified a hooker, who is awaiting trial for the first-degree murder of her boyfriend.

Al Sharpton: A man, who called the trial of the men, who raped a Central Park jogger and left her to bleed out 75% of her blood, a ‘lynching.’

Al Sharpton: A man, who not only evidently has the standing and credibility to preach about race and civility with too many Americans, but a man of such sterling character and towering intellect that a major cable station gave him his own talk show.

Al Sharpton: A man that Booker T Washington nailed in 1911 when he said:

‘There is (a) class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. … There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public.’

Nice Picture, That was back in the days when Al was Fat Albert.

How he ever managed a come back after Tawana Brawley deserves investigation, or inclusion in a collection of jokes.

WHITE HISPANIC may not be a new category. It has been used for decades in Federal employment for Hispanic minorities whose ancestors came from Spain. I am not sure but I believe the category also includes those from Portugal.

Remember when that movie won Best Picture, back when liberals actually believed in civil liberties. A lost world now.

The tragedy was, that though it was a fine film, it beat "Doctor Zhivago", which was a great film - but then Hollywood never does like an anti-communist message.

I'd like to touch on something about race and ethnicity.
The category "white Hispanic" has appeared in the media almost exclusively related to George Zimmerman. But the ethnic category "Hispanic" does include people of different races. Most Hispanics are mestizo -- European and First American in ancestry. A few are almost entirely European and some are mixes of "white", "black" and First American in many degrees.
So the term "white Hispanic" is less silly than it may seem. Of course it was used here to make Mr. Zimmerman appear plausible as a racist, something that every investigation has shown to be a calumny.

"European and First American"

Ahem. The correct term is, "First Immigrants".

Its accuracy really annoys the leftists. ;-)

No doubt every investigation found Mr Zimmerman not to be a racist. But what of him now, and his parents, after this travesty of a prosecution and onset of organized, irrational, race hate-driven backlash?

And what of me, at age 70 and long "recovered" from the ordinary racism of my youth? What's to keep me from falling off the recovery wagon now, after finding I get no acknowledgement from the beneficiaries for any of what I've achieved?

Even the ATF is into the act:
The current 4473 has Question 10, in two parts:
10.a. Ethnicity
Hispanic or Latino;
Not Hispanic or Latino.

10.b. Race (Check one or more boxes)
American Indian or Alaska Native;
Asian;
Black or African American;
Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander;
White.

Both 10.a., and 10.b., must be answered.

The race baiters have to bait. Most would starve if they had to actually work for a living.

There are over 1000 black males aged 13-19 murdered in this country every year. As Iowahawk points out, the protestors know the name of ONE of them, because they have been trained to bark like circus seals.

To Obama, Holder and Sharpton, race isn't just the most important thing, it's very often the only thing. They are every bit as obsessed with race, and race above all, as any Klansman ever was. To not be able to see this, one must close the eyes of his mind and keep them shut by force.
