Ah, Aerosmith. They performed at a free outdoor concert here yesterday, a mere 1/2 mile away from me, which I, of course, had to attend. And I must say, being an old guy whose seen more than my fair share of acts, they still have the magic, at least in a live performance. Awesome!
I had some passing notion to take pictures and submit an article about it to PJMedia (I thought it would be a nice counter-point to Zombie’s posts about San Francisco, the “other freakshow”), but regrettably, getting close enough to the stage to do so was near-impossible. Ah, well.
After so many years of drug use, it’s quite impressive how well Steven Tyler still wails when he lets loose. Still, too bad the band focuses so much on ballads this time around. “LUV XXX,” “Legendary Child” and “Street Jesus” make up for it though. Too bad about the lack of photos, Allston, those would have been great to see here at PJ!
