Will Doug Kmiec Please Stand Up?

April 26th, 2013 - 6:29 pm

Make no mistake — Obama went to the Planned Parenthood event this week because of the Gonsnell trial.  Planned Parenthood needed a cheerleader after a very bad month.

Obama wouldn’t have it otherwise, for this is an administration that does not retreat from its most radical instincts.  A more reasonable, left-of-center president might have concluded it is bad form to appear at a Planned Parenthood event the very week that it refused to condemn vile murders that took place in a Philadelphia hell house.

But not Obama.  This is a man who nominates dishonest radicals for the cabinet like Thomas Perez who abuse peaceful pro-life clinic protesters.  This is a man unashamed to flaunt his radicalism to the radicals who understand and appreciate it, even while he speaks with a veneer of respectability so middle America won’t understand what the radicals do.

So will Doug Kmiec finally stand up and denounce this enemy of the innocent?  Does Obama’s appearance at Planned Parenthood this week, this awful week while the Gosnell trial winds down, finally give Kmiec the chance to admit he made a mistake in 2008?

Will Kmiec admit he made a mistake, not so much with his own embarrassing endorsement on Easter, but in his follow-up work to lure believers to vote for a man that has done more to harm unborn innocents than any president in history?

There is no better time than now, than this week.

We can watch Kmiec at his Twitter feed.  So far, no mention of Gosnell or Obama’s Planned Parenthood appearance, or his mistakes in 2008.

Human rights law? Like allowing kids to be murdered after birth because mommy's intention was to kill you while still in her uterus? Kmiec is some Catholic!

Kmiec reminds me of so-called Catholic, former Rep. Bart Stupak, who, after selling out to Obama on Obamacare, landed a million dollar gig at Harvard.
But one can't blame them for catholics voting for Obama. I've met the Catholics who voted for Obama. They're nice people, but they're idiots.

None of the Catholics I know vote Republican. Maybe the "life" issues just aren't very important to Catholics, they don't buy what their church is selling them.

If you dont know any catholics, other than hispanics, that voted against obama, you either come from a radical leftist area, or dont know very many real catholics, since, other than hispanics, they voted pretty strongly against obama.

Have to disagree with your first sentence. Not a single Catholic voted for Obama in 2008 or 2012. Let me clarify, not a single faithful and informed Catholic could possibly vote for a pro-abortion extremist. While complicit, Kmeic is not responsible for other people's mistakes. He may have been an agent of temptation (just bite the apple what the harm), but each voter has free will and should exercise better judgment and choose not to listen to the agents of the father of lies.

Many hispanic catholics voted for obama, but you are quite right that most non-hispanic catholics opposed obama. And I suspect that catholic opposition increased significantly when he decided to force the church to pay for birth control. Even many catholics who used birth control themselves did not appreciate the assault on religious freedom of forcing a church to pay for something that is against their doctrine.

If Albert Speer were still alive, I'm sure he could enlighten all of us as to what exactly motivates Mr. Kmiec to do and say the things he does.

Honestly, I don't understand these people. The president and his liberal cronies shamelessly attack the church and in particular, the Catholic church, on all fronts - abortion, birth control, education etc. In response, our “church leaders” behave as sheep destined to be slaughtered. Instead of speaking up and urging their flock to think twice voting for the president, they keep silent arguing that the church is separated from the state and is not involved in politics. The only problem is that the liberals use the state and its power to attack the church in order to dismantle it as a socially important independent institution.

I have been told by a Pastor that I have known for 37 years that 80% of American Bishops are "Democrats". This is why Kennedy; Cuomo; Biden; Kerry & Pelosi were never officially excommunicated. However, ABORTION--having, abetting or publicly supporting such-- is one of the 5 Mortal sins that automatically incur excommunication( as well as a Priest or Bishop with "extraordinary" faculties" to provide absolution in the Church Sacrament of Penance/Reconcilliation/Confession under the conditions of repentance and firm resolution of amendment ).

I cannot see people like this man and his co democrats i.e. Pelosi, Biden , Kerry, Casey etc. etc. as co religionists at all. As a practicing Catholic I have nothing at all it common with people who support the destruction of human life whether they claim they are Catholic or not. It seems to me that their religion is the democrat party and the morality of Teddy Kennedy.

It isn't just the abortion issue.

In the last decade, Doug Kmiec became a Democrat in all but name.

He was a big fan of Hillary as SecState, now he's a big fan of John Kerry in that role too:

Doug Kmiec: "Secretary-designate Kerry knows that the 21st century belongs to diplomacy, not military might, but he also knows that defense of diplomatic endeavor must be made foremost in the military mindset"

What turned Kmiec into a semi-Democrat fan of Obama seems to have been the War on Terror. Kmiec was horrified by the revelations of waterboarding and the failure to find the WMD in Iraq that Bush had assured us was there.

And so in 2008, Kmiec stated that while he still disagreed with Obama about abortion, he supported Obama because ending the wars was more important.

Kmiec was horrified at the way that war turned out. It soured him on the Bush Administration, and on the GOP generally.

There you go again sinzie, the Big Lie. It wasn't just Bush who assured us Iraq had WMD, it was also both Clintons, Kerry, and all the other key Demunists. Obama ended the wars upon his coronation? I don't think so. We still have troops, I say TROOPS son, in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

'Sneaky' sins, we call him. He comes in Abe Lincoln's clothes but soon shows us that he is just another Pelosi in drag.

I have to modify my statement above. We still have 'security' personnel in Iraq, not 'troops'. Of course many security personnel were formerly troops.
