SO I FINISHED NIVEN & POURNELLE’S Escape From Hell last night, and it clearly embodies Grant Gilmore’s statement that “In Heaven there will be no law, and the lion will lie down with the lamb. . . . In Hell there will be nothing but law — and due process will be meticulously observed.” I kept waiting for the actual quote to appear. The tone is very different from Inferno, but it’s very much worth reading.
