PYRA IS A COOL COMPANY OF 2002 according to Fortune. It’s well-deserved. Blogger has its issues, but it almost singlehandedly created the contemporary Blogosphere. Not many companies can produce such a major social change with a single product, especially one that’s essentially in beta.

Laurence Simon says:
It’ll be interesting to see how much money Microsoft will dangle in front of Evan to nab Pyra. For what it’s worth, he deserves every penny, dollar, and share for his efforts.
The answer for the “Where will things be in five years” will probably be: Microsoft will have already made a move to either buy them off or pick them off and grind them up like they did with Netscape. Gates will claim he had the vision of blogging all along while gutting the blogging phenomenon of its soul, stability, and viability.

Not since I discovered Penthouse at the age of 13 had a single product resulted in such devotion and time spent alone in the basement.
Thanks, Ev.
