If this is true, isn't it a fine example of turning the tables? Of "punching back twice as hard"? If I were in office, I'd start looking for opportunities to enforce loony laws against the loonies who enacted them. Make "three felonies a day" a reality -- and watch the dominoes fall.

Since this was made by a lefty website against a "conservative" (by local standards) government, it was clearly a smear attempt. However, as satire, it would have worked very well.

Since those laws exist and are being enforced, why not use them against antisemitism? Why, of all hatred, should that be exempt?

Canadian law would probably be OK with a boycott of a specific business for something it had actually done, but it would certainly ban a boycott of all Christian-owned businesses, just as it would a boycott on all Israeli-owned businesses.

I'm very disappointed in both Instapundit and Hotair for believing a far left web site over a genuinely Conservative government. You using this story is like taking something from the Daily Kos as true. If you had read the comments at hotair you would have seen the story has been completely debunked. But you wanted to believe your bias. Now there are major headlines in so called respectable right wing blogs giving legitimacy to an easily debunked lefty smear. We expect more out of you.

FPR, the story linked to was from HotAir, which is not a "far left web site." I have linked to your website which calls it a conspiracy. At the time the story was scheduled (late last night), it had not been reported as false. It happens, but it's hardly evidence of wanting to "believe your bias."

HotAir got the story from CBC which is a far left public funded media outlet that despises the Conservative Party. The link is not to my website - I found it through smalldeadanimals.com I am just one of the tens of thousands of volunteers for the Conservative Party of Canada that is tired of always fighting the media smears. I find it extremely depressing when I see these smears in my favorite blogs such as Instapundit and HotAir.

Yannai Segal is correct. The state-supported Canadian public broadcaster's mandate is to provide service to all Canadians. However, their service is tailored to the concentrated population of elitist, statist academics and artistes in downtown Toronto. Any time they can slander the federal Conservative government, they rush to be first in line.

That's not a fair characterization. There's plenty of people in Ottawa who are big fans.
