Someone please warn these illegal immigrants not to rely too heavily on all these goodies. They cannot last and therefore they will not. At some point, at best, the goodies will stop. Seems to me that the problem with letting illegals pay into Social Security for at least 10 years and then collect after retirement is that there is a welfare benefit aspect to social security - giving higher than would be actuarily-sound payments to those who only pay in near the minimum amounts.

SS has the same problem with those of us who qualify for SS, but mostly worked for state governments that offer separate retirements. Since the government has a way to claw back such extra payments from us, it should be easy enough to do the same for the illegals. Presumably, this would involve figuring out how long they were here off the books, and dock their SS payments for whatever FICA taxes were not paid for them during those years.

Let's see... Some of the commenters claim the immigrants are coming over to go on welfare and some claim they're taking our highly-skilled jobs. There should be a debate between the two sides.

Of course it is logically possible for some immigrants to come here and "go on welfare" while at the same time other immigrants come here to "take our high-skilled jobs". There's no inherent contradiction there.

Our children are already being warned that there will be nothing for them and Obama loads more users into the system. How many payees will it take to cover the elderly illegal's when they can collect SSI? Whatever...
