Conservatives need to move away from the inaccurate S-word and call a spade a spade. The system in place now may quite accurately be called democratic fascism. About a decade ago, Reagan speech writer Anthony Dolan, the guy who coined the phrase “evil empire” for the Soviet union pointed out that the Democrats were pushing democratic fascism, and that they should be called on every chance conservatives got.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much to choose between “Compassionate Conservatism” and what the Democrats were proposing so that never came about. Now with Jonah Goldberg’s book it’s time to make the case that Obama isn’t emulating Socialism, he’s copying pages from Mussolini’s playbook.
