The liberals in DC or Sac’ will toss Silicon Valley’s libertarians a social “feel-good” bene’ or two, like gay-marriage or legal pot, but they’ll keep the hard, economic benefits, like a repeal of the Capital Gains Tax for example, under tight control – and most of SV’s libertarians will be perfectly happy with the chocolate-covered hand-outs.

Environmental policies appeal to this confused, California crowd, too: say something about reducing carbon footprints, saving whales or “strengthening” the Coastal Commission and they’ll jump your way.

Yup, SV’s libertarians will be easy to play from DC. Facile marionettes, even. And it doesn’t have to be this way.
