To borrow a certain meme, now is the time we juxtapose:
2003: We don’t have an exit strategy.
2011: We don’t have an entrance strategy.
1973 Church Committee: The CIA is evil and must be destroyed!
2011 Lurch Committee: The CIA fights evil and must be deployed!
1940s: Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.
2011: Violence is the first refuge of the incompetent…but only after weeks of dithering and then only after passing the buck to some Candadian general or NATO or the Arab League or the UN or a passing Pizza Hut delivery boy.
