When I first read the article i did not catch the anti-Jewish implications. It was the presentation that was negatively suggestive. THE VDH article pointed out the devil in the details. The Israelis are sick of war, but they are also sick of waiting for the Arabs to make peace and have wisely moved on. Vick’s suggestion that peace with the Palestinians should be uppermost in Israeli minds is symbolic of his own ignorance of the situation. Apparently someone forgot to tell him that the Palestinians were created as a stick to hit Israel with; that they are the only people in the world whose entire identity is dependent on the destruction of another people (show me a book, poem, or song that can be called uniquely Palestinian that does not deal with Israel) and that making peace with Israel would be tantamount to announcing that they made the whole struggle up and that they really do not have any “right” to the land. I could go on but anyone with commonsense and a knowledge of history knows the the Palestinian cause is a racket. The Israelis do, Mr. Vick does not.

As for Mr. Vick’s implication that the Israelis are unnaturally preoccupied with money, when you live in downtown Manhattan and have a West Virginia salary you are preoccupied with money, and that is what living in Israel is like. Economically it is tough, when I lived there rents had to be paid six months in advance. BTW, critics like Vick are a dime a dozen in Israel, the Israelis scoff at them, the way Americans scoff at university leftists who attack the US.
