I used to watch Howard K. Smith and Frank Reynolds. That ad shows news – not the fluff we are saturated with 24/7 now. People tuned in to get informed – and they were. It was not hippie-saturated, though still left-leaning in many ways. Howard K. Smith was in particular well-respected; we need more of his type today. Huntley and Brinkley were by this time old news, as their hey-day was in the early 60′s. I miss the relevance of nightly news, the reporting of facts, and the support of the media for at least SOME neutrality! Olbermann, Maddow, Couric, etc. are a sham – propaganda agents, at best.
