I am a Conservative. The Cordoba Mosque is an abomination that must not be built.

However, the majority of Conservatives posting here just don’t seem to understand: unless & until they come to the realization that Islam is NOT a religion, they will continue to lose issues like this. Hoping that arguments based on “insensitivity”, or being “uncaring” or “offensive” will carry the day are ridiculously naive, since legally the First Amendment will trump you every time.

Islam is a totalitarian political ideology wrapped around a barbaric 7th-century Arabic culture, masquerading as a religion. While there may be moderate and therefore apostate Muslims, there can be no moderate Islam. Until this is understood, the First Amendment will continue to undercut any chance at stopping new mosques, sharia, and the Islamic takeover of our society from within.

Would you agree to the resurrection of the Aztec religion, with its removal of hearts from sacrificial victims? Why not, if it’s just another religion? In the same way, the vicious, degenerate practices mandated by Islam ever since its inception have never changed, so why play into the progressives’ semantic games about it being a bona-fide ‘religion’?

It is long past time for real Conservatives to fully understand the basic premises of Conservatism. It is time for real Conservatives to acquire a backbone. Everything about Islam can and should be opposed because Islam is NOT a religion.
