Would that things were so pure. The fact is that the government restricts all kinds of things without regard for citizen freedoms. Try taking several wives. Try remodeling a house deemed “historic” in your town. In California there is a coastal commission that will interfere with almost anything – try building steps down to the beach if you are fortunate enough to own such property. How about those who own land and find it all of a sudden declared non-buildable “open space” by the zoning board. We shut down perfectly good small businesses and take their land so the “re-development commission” can sell it cheaply to Wal Mart.

Let’s face it – standing on basic principles is not a long suit for government and especially not for this regime.
