You are a coward, and I hope your wife is not proud to read all of the excuses as for why you would not stick up for her. A big problem is that the black community refuses to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for themselves – just like you, turn your head and look away. You think that by not agreeing with these crazies, somehow you are part of a solution but you are wrong. In my experience, having grown up in a predominantly black neighborhood, black racism and violence against whites is the standard and the startling majority of blacks are NOT above the hate as you might want us to believe. And you may consider yourself middle class, but your writing reveals that you never paid attention in school and are probably just another example of insane equal opportunity hiring practices. The fact that you distinguish yourself as not wanting a hand out really emphasizes the widespread problems with the black community.
