isaac, I think your last few words highlight a critical distinction between those who vehemently pursued the farce of AGW and the rest of us in the scientific field. At this point, I am starting to believe that enriching humankind is, in fact, not on their agenda. This revelation has saddened and, I must admit, frightened me. I can’t think of another instance where such scientific nihilism was allowed to run rampant for so long, aided and abetted by so many governments. The irony being that at least one of those governments was founded for the sole purpose of caring for “We the People…”
I think this is just the first salvo in the struggle between scientists who hope to make discoveries that can help to enrich humankind, and those who simply want humankind to go away. It’s the logical conclusion of decades of postmodern thought that our scientists were steeped in on their way to the laboratory- if there’s nothing about humanity that makes us worthwhile, and we’re destructive to the rest of the universe, then there’s no reason for us to prosper- or even to exist.
