Chris Matthews: ‘Nobody Thinks This Country Can Drill Its Way Out Of High Gas Prices.’

Well, other than fellow GE employee Jay Leno, when prices were suffering from the Pelosi Premium back in 2008:

Speaking of which, as Moe Lane recently noted, the years prior to 2006 look “better and better every day, when compared to 2011.  Hey, remember when gas was $2.20 a gallon and the unemployment rate was 4.4%?  What happened with that? …Oh, right, the Democrats won the 2006 Congressional elections.”

Followed in two years later by the DC trifecta, which 2012 might just undo. In the meantime, high gas prices could put the president in a rather sticky situation.
