Feel the Hate

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-CA) apparently thinks it’s OK to go on the Hispanic-themed Univision cable network, and ala Yasser Arafat, say something in Spanish she’d likely never say in English: “The Vietnamese and the Republicans are, with an intensity, trying to take away” what Sanchez has come to believe is “her” Congressional seat. (Insert appropriate response from Scott Brown here.) As Breitbart.TV notes, “Rep. Sanchez is in a hotly contested race for re-election against the very popular, Vietnamese-American Republican, Van Tran:”

Meanwhile, as Matt Delong of the Washington Post writes, “Ohio Democratic chairman calls ‘tea partiers’ a nasty name” which, to translate Washington Post-ese into English, means that he “hugged” them with an F-bomb:

It’s not uncommon for political partisans to get excited when delivering a speech about a topic they care about. What is unusual is for the head of a state party to use foul language to describe political opponents in front of an audience — even a friendly one. That’s what happened Tuesday when Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern gave a speech before members of a steelworker’s union in Clarington, Ohio.WTOV-TV reports that the United Steelworkers union was endorsing a number of Democrats, including Gov. Ted Strickland, when Redfern used an expletive to describe “tea party” activists who oppose Democratic efforts to overhaul the health-care system.

“If your kids are going to graduate from college, now he or she gets health care, your heath care, while he or she looks for a new job,” Redfern said. “It’s in the very base terms we win these arguments. Every time one of these [expletive] says, excuse my language…

You can see the video of the aforementioned F-hug here. (Site may load slowly at the moment, I suspect WTOV is currently getting bombarded with traffic.)

Meanwhile, Adam Kinzinger, the Illinois Republican and Air National Guard Captain running for Congress, has a new web ad firing back at Rep. Debbie Halvorson, the Democrat whose campaign, as Jim Hoft noted last week, was caught on video participating in a rally with posters depicting Kinzinger as (but of course) Hitler:

In order to relieve the enormous pressure that Democrats have created for themselves by constantly taking the 30 percent side on issues unsupported by the American people, Congress is bringing in a little comedy relief this week, according to the Daily Caller:

Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert is slated to testify at a congressional hearing Friday on immigration titled “Protecting America’s Harvest.”

One Republican source said Colbert will be testifying “in character,” the Bill O’Reilly-like muse Colbert uses for his show.

A House Judiciary Committee spokeswoman, confirming Colbert would testify, said the hearing matter was a “serious issue . . . this is not a TV stunt.”

Some Republicans have already expressed unhappiness with Colbert witnessing at the hearing, thinking it would make light of a serious issue.

No, actually it makes perfect sense: Colbert, a liberal actor who pretends to be an American journalist, will be speaking to many liberals who are currently pretending to be employed as American politicians, at least until November 2nd.
