I was a Mao fan for a short while when as a lad I read "The Long March" by Snow(?) As a grandson of a few hundred generations of farmers, I lost my enthusiasm when I read about the forced collectivization of farmland. Dunn is old enough to know better, like most of the Obama posse. All deluded as the Great Helmsman. The East is Red and Obama is a one term mistake. It would be a miracle if someone could effectively explain why Biden is not a joke. We entered the Twilight Zone on Election Night. Watching the stage show in Chicago. A black guy, sure, that's pretty cool, but this guy? This can't be happening to the good old USA. He's too eager to serve mankind. Can't we rewind or Restore System to an earlier date? Not until Rod Serling is done with messing with us. One day we will wake up from what has to be just a scripted nightmare and find the Today Show discussing the downside of entitlement addiction and how it relates to affirmative action. Any day now.

We might not have to worry about Newsweek much longer.

My source inside is apparently pretty good. She tipped me off on the first round of layoffs, the second round, the office closings, the panic when too many people took "the package" and left.

Now she tells me the magazine and its parent are in such dire straits they are looking to merge. With any takers. I have taken a blood oath not to disclose the name of the parent companies discussing merger, but let's just say Newsweakling may meet a very timely death in the near future.

"... a vice-president to be reckoned with"? Is that actually *English*?

I look forward to "Why Newsweek is no Joke". Fortunately, there won't be any fishwrap around to write it.

I believe Anita "I Heart Dictators" Dunn actually said "political philosophers" when she made reference to Mother Teresa and Mao. That in itself reveals much... Whatever else she was, Mother Teresa was not a "political philosopher." Gosh, it is almost as if Anita wanted to equate the charitable works of Mother Teresa with the political philosophy of tyranny espoused and realized under Mao. The dissonant gap between the fact that Mao presided over the death of literal millions and Mother Teresa tried to keep people from dying is something we may safely ignore in our unreal age.
