Prevent global warming? No, it won&#039;t do that. (Even in the best of scenarios by its proponents it only delays the inevitable by a small period.)

But it was never really about that. Its proponents have been lying about their true goal.

It&#039;s really about &quot;sustainable development&quot;, which is a leftist code phrase for trying to make world economic development more equal. The idea is to throttle the American economy so that Americans produce less and consume less, while letting poor nations develop and catch up.

If your goal is to slow down the American economic juggernaut and prevent it from growing any further, then there&#039;s no better way to do that then to choke off energy supplies, and that is what the proponents of this are really after.

And if it&#039;s passed, it&#039;ll work, too.</description>
