EXCLUSIVE: Dave Brat Slams Obama Administration on Israel

July 9th, 2014 - 10:41 pm

Yesterday morning, I reached out to the Brat team to see if they would be making any statement on the situation in Israel today. I forwarded along a link — then hosted at the top of the Drudge Report – to yesterday’s statements by Philip Gordon, the White House’s coordinator for the Middle East, in which Gordon criticized the Israeli government for not currently negotiating with Mahmoud Abbas. (PJ Media’s Ron Radosh criticized Gordon here, and The Times of Israel editor David Horovitz did so here.) I had heard from some — very few, but some — conservatives who were concerned about the loss of Eric Cantor regarding the only issue they trusted Cantor on, and I thought asking for a response to the statements by Philip Gordon might yield a good barometer of Brat’s Middle East intentions.

Moments ago, Brat’s team emailed back with his comments:

Statement of Dave Brat regarding the recent speech at the Israel Conference on Peace in Tel Aviv given by Philip Gordon, the White House coordinator for the Middle East:

“I am deeply troubled by the remarks from the Obama Administration, both for the incompetence in Middle East affairs that the remarks demonstrate and for the narcissism inherent in suggesting that the Obama administration knows how to protect Israeli citizens better than Israel does.

“The White House just rebuked Israel for supposedly ‘not taking advantage’ of the opportunity to negotiate with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas just weeks after Abbas welcomed Hamas — the terrorist organization now attempting to murder Jewish civilians with missile strikes on their cities — back into his ‘unity government.’

“The White House has criticized Israel’s government for not offering concessions to the very terrorists who have driven Israeli citizens into bomb shelters and who choose to operate from residential areas, using innocent bystanders as human shields.

“Most Americans recognize Israel’s right to defend itself from the terrorist regime sworn to its destruction. Unlike the administration, we reject the idea that terrorist missiles are somehow the fault of Israel’s government and that all would be well if only Israel sacrificed even more of its security.”

Ruh roh, here comes NYSocialist with another straw man logical fallacy.

No one heaped praise on Brat. The author simply reached out for a statement and then reported it. Your comments make 0 sense within the context of this article, but good job trying to spread disinformation for your team.

You forget something very important: Islam's eternal hatred and intolerance of Jews, which is based on passages in the Koran itself.
Long before Zionism existed, Middle East Muslims were oppressing Jews, both institutionally and with daily mistreatment and occasional pogroms.
An important factor in today's situation is Muslim rage at the idea that the lowly, contemptible Jews could fail to "know their place" (an expression that I use to conjure memories of Jim Crow and lynchings) and what's worse could actually win wars against the noble, superior Muslims.

Obama thinks Israel should respond to the attacks in the same way he responded to the murder of our personnel in Benghazi -- by lying, refusing to send aid to the besieged citizens, and making no move to retaliate. That is the response of a malicious worthless putz.

People that want to destroy you? are you kidding me? I see 87 palestinian deaths and over 500 wounded and 0 Israeli deaths and 2 wounded!!!!! Who's trying to destroy who?? Do not blame this on innocent civilians, the Pa, or innocent Jews. Blame this on Zionists, hateful Jews, hateful Arabs, the Prime Minister, and Hamas. Bottom line.

Endless promises to exterminate the Jews mean nothing, nramahi?
Really, the lies that Muslims tell are getting tiresome. Can't you at least invent some lies that don't insult our intelligence?

That's because Israel has Iron Dome, and the terrorists in Gaza don't. That''s also because Hamas deliberately places their missile sites in the middle of residential areas.

Let us recall that Hamas fired over 2,200 rockets into Israel in 2012 alone. Let us also recall that there were no rocket attacks nor Israeli bombing responses when the latter occupied Gaza. That's what happens when you give Palestinians any kind of opportunity; they'll use it to kill more jews.

When Hamas, Fatah, and the rest of the Palestinians stop citing the destruction as their base goal, I might considering listening to the BS you're spewing.

Constantly lobbing missles at civilians in another nation, and sending suicide bombers to murder civilians, is a hostile act, deserving retaliation. Just because Hamas is not very competant at their murders does not negate their hostility. And no civilians in Gaza need to die, because Israel is good enough to warn them of any strike, except that Hamas is cold blooded enough to not let those civilians evacuate before the attack, and purposely houses civilians with military targets. If Hamas cared about their people, they would renounce their attacks and make a lasting peace, just like Egypt did, but they obviously care more about killing Jews, than their own people.

The Pallies are pretty much incompetent at anything necessary for modern life, or for killing the Jews. They are fairly adept at stealing anything not bolted down, and killing themselves. And their supporters tend to be severely challenged intellectually.

The roots of the modern Arab–Israeli conflict are bound in the rise of Zionism and Arab nationalism towards the end of the 19th century . Territory regarded by the Jewish people as their historical homeland is also regarded by Palestinian Arabs as Muslim lands.
On June 4, 2009, US President Barack Obama stated: "For decades, there has been a stalemate: two peoples with legitimate aspirations, each with a painful history that makes compromise elusive. It is easy to point fingers – for Palestinians to point to the displacement brought by Israel’s founding, and for Israelis to point to the constant hostility and attacks throughout its history from within its borders as well as beyond. But if we see this conflict only from one side or the other, then we will be blind to the truth: the only resolution is for the aspirations of both sides to be met through two states, where Israelis and Palestinians each live in peace and security."
It is time for them to sort out their own problems on their own. As President John Kennedy once said about Vietnam, "in the end, it is their war, not ours."

The Holy Land was territory conquered by the Mohammedans in AD637. They were content to leave the Land settled by the Christians and Jews; the Arabs moved there seeking better living conditions, but in small numbers. The present crop of Arabs identifying themselves as "Palestinian" resulted from the influx of Arabs looking for better jobs after the Zionists began to make the Land productive.

There were massacres by Arabs on Jewish communities in Israel long before 1948. Do a quick Google search and you will find out about them. The violence perpetrated on Jews by Arabs does not find its source in the founding of the state of Israel.

So when the head of the brotherhood in egypt said jews are vermin who should be exterminated, he did not hate Jews, and when Hamas says the same they do not hate Jews. Sorry I dont buy it. The real truth is the main sects of Islam are willing to let Jews and christians live, most of the time, provided they are properly subservient slaves.

Have you heard of the Israeli's 'Samson Option' ?
The Arabs are fighting a war of extermination;
If they win, and destroy Israel, Israeli Nuclear
weapons will destroy the Arabs, as well as those
who aided them. Do you happen to live in D.C. ?

I suspect if any Samson option really exists, it will be to drop a nuke on Mecca. It would make the haaj a lot less pleasant. Muslims should consider this as they pursue their goal of completely destroying Israel, since they may destroy their own religion in the process.

This Samson Option to nuke DC is an unsubstantiated rumor. Don't treat it as a fact. And I'll bet that this threat to nuke DC was invented by domestic Jew-haters to get Americans to see Israel as an enemy.

Obama was once a guy that nobody knew anything about, reading the liberal media and telling people what they wanted to hear. Today, we know that he lacks any serious understanding of the way the world works and is not very good at anything other than reading his teleprompter and taking clumsy, damaging and expensive actions based upon his unworkable ideology. There are an awful lot of people who would trade him in for Palin in a heart beat if given the chance.

The Evil genie is out of the Bottle. It all began in 1967 when the Israeli Forces reclaimed all of Jerusalem but in a moment of weakness and misguided secular-Jewish largesse decided to allow the Muslim's Al Aksa Mosque to remain undisturbed on Temple Mount. Temple Mount is a Spiritual Vortex, given to the Jewish Nation to safeguard by the Holy ONE, the Omnipotent Force of all Forces in the Universe, with strict instructions as to what is allowed and forbidden on this most Awesome and powerful Spiritual Powerplant on planet earth.
The Jewish People have no Spiritual claim to the Holy Land when they do not fulfill their 'part of the bargain', that is, their G-d given responsibility under the Covenant to serve as
Custodians of the Mount. In effect, fulfilling that singular responsibility, more than any historical claims or 'legal' titles of ownership is what gives legitimacy to the Jewish possession of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.
On a deep and subconscious spiritual level this truth is felt if not understood not only by the European Union and United Nations but particularly by our half brothers in the Muslim world who have rightfully concluded the weakness and spiritual faithlessness of the Jewish Nation in spurning G-d's Will. Their fraudulent possession of Temple Mount and the Israeli Government's complicity in reinforcing of this fraud by officially forbidding any Jewish prayer or even for Jews to set foot there has caused a world-shattering metaphysical imbalance, a short-circuit so to speak.
Since 1967 the cancer of Radical Islam has metastasized world-wide, threatening every civilization with physical and spiritual destruction. The 9-11 attacks, Violent terror attacks on non-Muslims, Islamic unrest and Sharia in Europe, everywhere Islam has a presence, the dread and unspeakable menace of two nuclear armed Islamic States, Pakistan and soon Iran, just to name a very few nightmares.
Is all this a coincidence? Is it a coincidence that all three major religions hold Jerusalem as sacred ground to be fought and died for? A coincidence that Jerusalem is never mentioned in Islam's holiest book, Koran, yet thousands of times in Jewish Scripture!
The truth is that nothing can stop this Cancer from spreading. Not Armed forces, Drone assassinations, Civil laws or security checkpoints. Not even the false panacea of a 'successful' political settlement with Arab Palestinians in Judea/Samaria for 'Palestinian' Statehood there will turn the tide and return the 'Genie' to the 'bottle'. Those are nothing but band-aids on soon-to-be terminal cancer. And more and more as the nations of the world, including formerly friendly ones in European Capitols and Washington D.C. Quietly have begun to openly question the merits, even the 'legitimacy' of the Jewish State, the situation facing Israel has become dire. Far worse than Iranian nukes is this other threat. Sadly, more and more American Jews have come to question Israeli status in that region. The BDS movement grows on American University campuses, most troubling as it now includes growing numbers of young liberal Jewish students, men and women.
Militarily, politically, philosophically, morally ...Israel is becoming weakened on many fronts. It is not certain the Jewish State can survive much longer under the expanded and multifaceted front.
Unless...The Jewish Nation will do what should have been done in 1967. Remove the Al Aksa from Temple Mount. We need not destroy it, for we Jews do not destroy. We are not a vindictive people even towards our enemies. This golden-domed edifice can be disassembled brick by brick, placed on flat bed trucks, hauled overland and presented as a gift to the Hashemite King as a goodwill gesture.
We must Restore balance to the spiritual vortex of this Awesome Temple Mount as was intended by the Holy ONE. There Is No Other Way. Yes, it will be painful. The region and world will bleed with Muslim fury and world-violence. For a while. And then, the cancer will die as the Genie of Spiritual imbalance is returned to the Bottle. There Is No Other Way. And Time Is Running Out.

Uh...the "Golden-Domed edifice" is the Dome of the Rock, from whence the Prophet (eternal torment be upon him) on his Magick Horsie jumped to Heaven. The Al-Aqsa Mosque is a rock storage bin for Moozlim demonstrators.
