What is interesting is that the political unknown Renee Ellmers won election in 2010 over long time Democrat incumbent Bob Etheridge. Her campaign got a big boost when Etheridge was filmed aggressively handing some students asking him questions ambush style. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=bob+etheridge+student+video&FORM=VIRE3#view=detail&mid=EF7A6FF76A6F6D8242DEEF7A6FF76A6F6D8242DE

I gave her campaign a few bucks although I am in Virginia. She won. Now she has succumbed to a bad case of Potomac Fever manifested as Arrogance Amnesia. I guess her primary opponent might need a few bucks this go-round.

Excuse me? How would you like to be treated like this by your congressman or woman? She changes the venue the same day, forcing constituents to drive more than an hour to the other end of the district; says they can have thirty minutes; then arrives fifteen minutes late; then says only three of the the constituents can enter her office. Then browbeats them and calls them racists. News flash. The position of representative is not her inheritance; it belongs to the people. And the people have the good sense to replace her with someone else, worthy of their trust and respect.

Another shrill, elitist Liberal. Abusive and condescending, rude and graceless.

A female Barney Frank.

Mandy and Karen, with all due respect, those constituents were acting as if they were on the Maury show, instead of behaving as if they were in talking with a US Representative, or anyone else, for that matter. They would NOT hold a conversation with anyone else the way that they were talking with Rep Ellmers. And you can't tell me otherwise because NO ONE talks to others as if they are on the Maury show in real life.
Those constituents were WRONG. She answered the question, didn't give the answer that they wanted, cowardly hid a camera instead of being men about it and holding the camera, and they kept nagging about the question. What were they expecting? That she was going to give a different answer to the same questions?
Guess what, it doesn't work that way, and YOU wouldn't accept that type of behavior if they were talking with you.

Gee, it didn't take Ellmers long in office to head straight for the lobbyist trough!

I watched all the videos, and, I don't disagree with her. And what's with these "cowards," that are supposedly tea party, doing hiding their camera, instead of being upfront and honest about it?
She was very patient and calm with these people, then those people, instead of being civil with her, got all confrontational for, apparently, no other reason than they wanted to have the floor and not allow Rep. Ellmers to speak.
From what I heard of this "Private" conversation (and the jerk that recorded it was the one that was disrespecting Rep. Ellmers, not the other way around), she was trying to answer the question she was asked, and was rudely interrupted during that time, and then they continued on after the question was answered. Just like with any conversation that one has with anyone else, when the question is answered, one does not keep on dragging out the same question unless there is a point that being asked as a clarification.
Everything cannot be a "gotcha" moment, and the videos show that this is definitely NOT a "gotcha" moment, but instead, bad behavior by people that were in that meeting with Renee Ellmers.
I'll tell you what, if your kid acted that way towards you when you were answering a question from them, you wouldn't allow them to behave the way that those people in the video behaved. And if you were in a meeting at work and someone behaved like that, it would not be tolerated. Period. There are civil guidelines to conversation, and it wasn't Rep. Ellmers that broke those guidelines.

Turn you argument 180 degrees to the right, or left, and you got it.

You would have been so at home in Marie Antoinette's entourage. I hear Queen Renee has an opening for another sycophant on her staff. But then again, if you are calling these constituents "cowards" you are probably already on her payroll.

I don't believe in returning rudeness for rudeness, but Ellmers had jerked them around and around before they got to meet her: she changed location on them, forcing them to drive a long way to meet her; she was late; she cut the session in half and she met them in a very small room.

As for your claim that one shouldn't ask the same question repeatedly unless it's for clarification, I don't know who made that rule or why. In this kind of situation, one can ask the same question as often as one likes if one is not satisfied with the answer.

These people are NOT her children. They are her constituents; she works for them. This is politics, and if one cannot handle heated situations, one needs to get out of politics.

Representative Elmers treated these people in a disgraceful manner. Goes to show that a Republican can be just as arrogant and dense as the worst Democrat. I don't know what position she was defending, or if she is right or wrong to defend it, I just know she does not understand how to treat her fellow citizens. Very sad.

The worst part was when she tries to dismiss the man in the three-person group as having "personal issues" as if she were debating a political opponent rather than being given the honor of listening to some of her constituents. I am offended and disgusted.

I couldn't find anything from your first link except some singing nun. The second link yielded nothing at all. The following are videos of the same encounter from two different angles.

I note that you neglect to mention in the article that she is a Republican and she replaced an incumbent Democrat. But I guess this is more of the "we'd rather have a Democrat than this Republican" line of idiocy.

Wrong. The correct replacement is an authentic conservative. Which is why this RINO must be replaced by Frank Roche in the upcoming primary election in North Carolina's 2nd district.

If we don't hold our allies to account when they emulate Democrats, why should voters take ANYTHING the GOP says seriously?

It's rather obvious she's a Republican. How many Democrats would compare themselves favorably to Cruz, Paul and Lee on immigration?

The second link goes to the story from yesterday, and it includes the fact that her primary opponent, Frank Roche, beat her two-to-one in the GOP convention's straw poll.

That was a curious oversight - I was about to look her up - but I don't see why a Democrat would be the preferred replacement.
