Hi Michele – You have made some valid points, but I think you are missing one point though. The root of this matter is how Palin and her husband wasn’t able to guide her daughter in the right direction, or at least in the same direction that she keeps preaching to other parents to tell their kids, which is abstinance from sex. This critical failure in her own family makes me question her abilities to lead and guide the country as a leader of the country. Yes, I feel for the daughter, and the pressure this will put on her, and she shouldn’t be attacked for her mistake. But …. this is not all about the daughter, this is also about the mother, the one who is running for a position that is one of the most critical in our country. If she wants our vote for VP, she should allow us to find out A LOT about who she is, what makes her tick, and about her background, her character, her values, her leadership skills, etc. This story is important for the American public/voters to hear about. If Gov. Palin knew about her daughter’s pregnancy before accepting the VP selection, it was her duty to protect her daughter from criticism and attention from the media and the public, and should have not accepted. She had the choice to protect her daughter, but chose her career instead.
