I’d suggest this is very consistent, and that there is no hypocrisy at all on the part of the Palin family. What might be more interesting, at least, to me, would be the people condemning this situation. The girl’s seventeen, and she’s going to have the baby. That fits with how she was raised. She had sex out of wedlock (likely against what her parents told her), which fits with Teen Culture (such as it exists). Mom didn’t disown or condemn her-that’s family values.
