The Assad regime is cruel though not unusual. The regime that may follow, with the partial assistance of those determined to spread ‘democracy’ to a Muslim Arab sphere unready for same, may well be worse. While John McCain and most neo-Cons praise the rebels in Libya, many wear souls of al Qaeda. Beware.
