rocketeer: NOT helping someone when a natural or even a man made disaster strikes is something Americans simply cannot do. It doesn’t matter how much crap they may have slung our way in the past; when typhoons, floods, earthquakes, or any other of the traditional Biblical plagues strike America as a nation and Americans as individuals will be right there contributing all they can to help save lives and rebuild.

That’s not to say there won’t be quite a few shadenfreud induced quiet giggles back at home and behind certain great leader’s back but the help will flow anyway.

That’s the American way.
