Why Biden Is a Good Choice

Taylor:

Since Joe Biden was writing for your blog recently, I assume he mentioned that just a month ago, on “Meet the Press”, he stated in no uncertain terms that, if offered a VP position, he wouldn’t take it, no matter what.

Now, Joe Biden, I think you’ll agree, is a man of his word. Thus, when Joe accepted Obama’s offer to be his Vice President, you must have been flabbergasted because keeping your word has to be a bedrock quality for a politician.

And if you’re dealing with someone that can’t be counted on for veracity, (unless you have him wear a 24 hour lie detector), you don’t know whether or not they’re telling the truth. Do you? Which would compromise Biden’s ability to carry out his day to day duties I should think. People, foreign and domestic, might not trust him. Is that fair to say?

So we have a problem because Joe Biden’s honesty also affects, for instance, whether or not Obama can trust him; can trust that the views he gives are genuine. We can’t afford to play guessing games at this level of government. Now can we?

Of course, if this was an isolated incident, a one time example of Joe’s disinguenuousness, maybe we’re okay.

However, I seem to remember a few other examples. Didn’t Joe Biden admit to plagarism a while back? Oh, that’s not good.

And didn’t Biden say within the last few weeks that Biden doesn’t think Obama is ready to be commander in chief; or possess the necessary qualifications to be President? I think Biden did say that.

Well, it appears the big question involves whether Joe is being straight with us, or does he, as my father used to say with liars, have a clown in his belly?

If true, these revelations must be disquieting for you. Enough obviously to second guess your premise that Joe Biden is a good choice for Vice President.

Joe Biden, as you say, may be the most seasoned in the senate to deal with foreign matters, but considering his honesty and integrity, I mean, if they are lacking, doesn’t that kind of trump the seasoning part; wouldn’t you say? It would seem the detriments of one far outweigh the benefits of the other.

Well, Taylor, these are just a couple of top- of-the-head concerns I have regarding Joe Biden. Think about them. If I’m missing something, please let me know. If I’m right, maybe you’ll reconsider whether you still believe Biden is a good choice. I’m interested to find out what light you can shed on my Joe Biden concerns.

Sincerely,
