So, basically, the young, inexperienced man who would be president needs an older, experienced person to tell him what to say and do when it comes to foreign policy. Wasn’t that what many said was one of the problems with Bush – that Cheney was the man behind the curtain pulling the strings?
As an independent (former Democrat) this doesn’t make me feel any better about Obama; in fact, it makes me feel less sure about him. Because, ultimately, I’m electing the president, not the vice president.
Plus, if I recall, when questioned on Saddleback about the people he would go to for advice while president, he said he would go Sam Nunn and Dick Lugar for advice on foreign policy issues.
