This guy must be swilling cognac that’s been stored in lead crystal decanters for a couple hundred years, and at a pretty good clip at that. His “reasoning” beggars description. And the msm and self-appointed elites criticize clear-thinking folks like Sarah Palin and her supporters for lack of branded degrees! If this is what a world-class education produces, let’s save ourselves a lot of money and outfit our kids with shovels and coal so they can teach themselves to read the way Abe Lincoln reputedly did. We sure as hell could use a few more leaders like him in this world! If it were not all so unutterably tragic, it would be laughable.

Like all humans, I have many personal failings, but one thing stubbornly defies my understanding, and that is the need for people in post-jungle societies (we’ve been losing ground way too fast in my lifetime for me to call it “civilization”) for a group of “others” to hate, exemplified by the hellish, mindless tortures endured by the Jews since their beginngs . It is like that applied to no other people on earth in volume, kind, and pervasiveness, present-day claims by today’s trendy parvenus to victimhood notwithstanding. It is particularly diabolical because the aggregate contributions by the Jewish people to civilization (and *here* it is appropriate, thanks to them and the societies they’ve leavened) represent intellect and culture at their highest levels. I hesitate to mention that, because it is totally irrelevant–and yet the terrible irony is there. For something for which no “reason” exists, can that possibly be part of this madness? If so, it adds nothing to comprehension, but only makes it even harder, for what can there possibly be in a person that makes him want to smash or kill everything beautiful, good, uplifting, and inspiring? These can only spring from the basest drives within us—those very things education and civilization should serve to refine and transmute. Thus not only is this ominous resurgence of hatred beyond comprehension, it is beyond sickening.

The courage of the owners of this website in publishing articles like this (and Roger Kimball’s excellent “Us and Them” piece!), and of the many stalwart comment writers here, is truly shining a light unto this darkness.
