But, according to the White House, I thought all of these “rebels” were pro-Western “freedom fighters” who just wanted to get rid of Gaddafi just so they could have a “democratic” form of government? Sure, just like the Muslim Brotherhood isn’t about to take over in Egypt. And just as in Afghanistan, where we supported the “rebels” and got the Taliban after the Soviets were defeated, we are now going to get al Qaeda in Libya once Gaddafi is defeated. Swell. So Libya will probably turn into another Afghanistan on the Mediterranean unless, of course, we want to actually put troops on the ground there for another 20 years or so. Is anybody, I mean ANYBODY, with any brains working on foreign policy at the White House these days?
