The premise of the film — that some Michael Moore type wants to abolish the Independence Day holiday — suggests that it will be more reliant on strawmen than The Wizard of Oz. Strange choice of target, too; Moore has been unusually quiet lately.
But have fun. All that money you’ll be spending on big blocks of tickets — the better to propel An American Carol to the top of the box-office lists — is money that won’t be going to the McCain campaign.
