One should be reminded that Sputnik which was the real driver to the Space Race, happened not long after the Hungarian intervention, not unlike the Georgian invasion. It should be a spur to development of new systems; than again there is no Von Braun to coordinate and promote the upcoming program; no Bonstell to really illustrate what could be the possibilities.
