I read that John Heilman article and he is the kind of white guy who thinks its cool to use words like “wonder bread” and “paleface” to show us that he is a cool white guy. He’s not like those other uncool white guys. He wants to be accepted as a cool black guy, except he’s not. I noticed in several General Motors ads that referred to one of their cars as “not being another whitebread version.” Well, my response to this is: hate yourself all you want to, but don’t think you’re persuading me to do likewise.
