Uhm… this isn’t really a snub. I’m rather amused at the American reaction to this quite honestly. It has nothing to do with the Obamas…

This isn’t an official state ceremony. It’s a family affair of the Royal family. It’s actually British protocol to just invite friends, families and representatives of the members of the British Commonwealth whom William and Kate will rule over someday as our future King and Queen… someday.

There’s also the fact that the Royal Family is doing all they can to maintain their traditions within reasonable range of frugality. The UK is not out of their economic slump either. So like any other family, they’ll have to be picky on expense on who to invite or not…
