Obama and Color-Coded Racial Double Talk

Once again, progressives confuse racism with realistic cultural distinctions.

Being “black” isn’t about having sub-Saharan ancestry, or being descended from slaves (call a Jamaican “black”, and see how long you last). “Black” is a cultural confection devised by progressives in the 1960s, and elaborated by thugs since then.

Being “black” is about having six children by five different mothers, and never having been married to any of them. Being “black” is about treating women worse than Muslims do. Being “black” is about being illiterate and ignorant, about never having held a job, and being proud of it.

There are “blacks” of purely (so far as can be told by looking at them) European descent. We call them “rednecks” and “yahoos” (and sometimes worse things). Conversely, there are men and women of African slave descent — Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, Bill Cosby, Condoleezza Rice — who are accused of being “inauthentically black”. And their accusers are literally correct; “blackness” is transmitted by example in the ghetto, and lecture in the classroom, but not by genes.

Obama isn’t “black”; he’s superficially educated and too effete. But he tries hard to convince people he’s black, in the hopes that they’ll either be enthralled by the gangsta, or afraid of it.
