I seem to recall that in Michael Steele’s Senate contest, he was subjected to great deal of blatantly racist tactics, not the self-generated and vaporous sort that Obama faces and the response from all those claiming we’re all incorrigible racists for failing to embrace the Obamessiah was most often that he deserved it for choosing to be a Republican.
