It’s what happens inside the beltway. No matter the noble intentions, after swimming in the cesspool long enough the corruption soaks into the bones and they become part of the problem. They can’t help it. The only way to prevent it is to enforce term limits by voters. Which as noted above, will never happen.

So we either continue the status quo or we impose term limits and eventually run out of quality people to run for the positions.

I’m seeing the sun setting on the great American Empire.
