This sounds like Venezuela and Chavez. Since on the topic of communist take-overs, what’s to say America hasn’t reached a ‘tipping point’, what with the many socialist programs already instituted? Rejection of unions and Obamacare (in the name of fiscal sanity) might be the straw that triggers a revolt where the forces on the left decide it’s time to really transform America.
Would the Media cheer them on? Yes. Would they take to the streets? Already have (here and elsewhere). Are bigger battles brewing? See California. The secret is in the numbers and just how hard it can get for people normally of sound mind. Loyalties may be fickle; times get tough, who’re you gonna believe, the greedy capitalist or a compassionate, welfare dolling government?
I’d hate to see my education and experience relegated to planting rice, ankle-deep in mud in the Central Valley during our hot summers. Especially when mere feet behind a defecating Ox. But, it might beat life in a gulag or firing squad. Ain’t democracy grand?
