Buddy Larsen…thanks for the link to the Daily Mail article; that was interesting.

I think it is erroneous in one important respect: it portrays The White Rose as committed entirely to *nonviolent* resistance. I do not think this is correct: my sense from fairly extensive reading is that they would have been entirely prepared to use violent means against the Nazi regime when the time was right.

When France fell in 1940, Sophie Scholl expressed bitter disappointment and said that they (the French) should have **fought to the last round**, which doesn’t sound like something that would be said by an absolute pacifist.
