Head Start hires teachers without degrees 12 units and a few have more, I know that is supposed to change?(right?) most run with high staff with the staff making very very low wages a few hours a day and a few days a week with summers off, closed for 2 weeks at Christmas closed for a week at Easter, all holidays, and the pay is so low for staff they themselves qualify for Head Start and welfare they are there own clients, look up how many staff use Head Start services, the past parent thing is a joke, self fulling , be a child or parent here and we will hire you it is in the preform standards. wow. I have seen many classrooms, a teacher, assistance teacher , another teacher aid, cook, bus driver, janitor, and 5 students, nuts. I would like to say it is rare, not so, It is funded by enrollment not attendance, what incentive do they have to have a full classroom. what a waste
