Ok, let’s see how Obama has failed or succeeded below. For all educated people, you be the judge.
1) Saved the Big 3 automakers from a total collapse with bailout stimulus loan from the Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009, not a grant that Bush previously gave, and programs like Cash For Clunkers which in fact did succeeded. The Big 3 automakers has shown huge profits for the first time in over 5 years and are paying the money back, regardless of how pundits try to twist things.
2) Saved the mortgage industry from a total collapse with bailout stimulus loan from the Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 to mortgage banks, raising a tax credit from $6,000 to just $8,000 for first time home buyers, and lowering the mortgage interest rates. We are not hearing massive foreclosures on weekly bases now as we did in 2007-2008, during Bush’s last 2 years of office.
3) Passing Health Care Reform, Credit Card Reform Act, Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and the financial regulatory reform to avoid another economic collapse.
4) When Obama took office from Bush, the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit bottom at 6,547 at one point and the NASDAQ was at 1,036. Today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is at 12,251 and the NASDAQ is at 2,803 due to the Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009, which the majority of the large mortgage banks are now paying back.
5) Got BP to commit to paying back $20 billion to all the devastated Gulf communities for the Gulf oil spill.
6) The last U.S. combat brigade has left Iraq as promised by Obama, after 7 years and over $700 billion spent on this war.
People must realize this clearly, Obama took over the Presidency at a worse time than Reagan or Clinton did. Reagan took over a bad economy from Carter but there were not 2 wars, Big 3 automakers collapse, and mortgage industry collapse. Clinton took over a bad economy from Bush Sr. without the same problems. Obama took over the Presidency with a total economic meltdown plus 2 simultaneous wars. So people, you be the judge.
